Second World War 1939-1945, abandoned / shut down, aviation, shelter
Once, a number of concrete one-plane shelters (for Zero fighters) existed here, now only one can be seen, and it's in a private field, though can be well seen from the road.
To get there from the Akayama tunnels, turn left from the parking lot, and then left again just before a big sign indicating the road to Sunosaki lighthouse. Then, look for a sign at crossroads, and turn right. The place is near a closed exit of the Akayama tunnels, in fact.
