First opened in 1972 as the Floriland Mall, it was Tampa's second shopping mall, and the first to be located on the north end of the city. Over the years it fell by the wayside in competition with newer malls like University Square and the former Tampa Bay Center, becoming a flea-market at one point.

Floriland (not to be confused with Floribraska, a street miles to the south) is an office park and government center for many agencies of Hillsborough County and the State of Florida.

  • This was the Floriland mall, not Floribraska mall. Floribraska is a street near downtown Tampa that connects Florida Avenue to Nebraska Avenue and runs under I-275
