This 1894 wood-framed structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Though the FEC rail lines are still very active, this building has not serviced a train in decades.
Should the Florida Department of Transportation succeed in their 2009 proposal to bring passenger trains back to the FEC main line, it is doubtful the Port Orange Depot would play a role. The nearest proposed station stop in their current proposal is a few miles north, in Daytona Beach.
