Creation of this chek-dam, thanks to TACEB, has led to the existing 'talav' which was originally on the eastern side of the "nargol-daman" coastal highway now growing to three times it's size and extending to the arabian sea, a boon to the farming community. To further increase the depth of this reservoir, the current administration has waived the cess of Rs.50/- per bullock cart being levied by panchayats on farmers who would excavate lake beds during summer to help enrich their own lands. again a win-win situation for the farmers and the administration.
