Lake Beresford is a freshwater lake along the St. Johns River in Volusia County, Florida, near the city of DeLand. The lake is 2.2 miles long and 0.5 mile wide, on the East side of the river, 107 miles south of Jacksonville. To the immediate south of the lake are the Hontoon Island and Blue Springs State Parks.
The lake is named after William Beresford, 1st Baron Decies (1743-1819) an anglo-irish noble and Archbishop who was the absentee owner of Beresford Plantation during the British period of Florida rule.
