Big dog run park. Public facilities of the unused adjacent Whitier school are vaguely attached to it, I think probably by default. It has a pretty amusing criminal history, but seems fairly safe now. A lot of league and school soccer and baseball goes on here. I get the impression it's treated as an overflow sports center by the local schools.
