Eight kms from Nagarjunasagar is the Ethipothala waterfall. Ethipothala in Telugu means to 'lift and pour' and the impressive picnic spot has the hill stream Chandravanka cascading down 22 metres to join the mainstream Krishna river. The waterfall has created a beautiful lagoon below. After sunset, the waterfalls are illuminated by dynamic lighting. A crocodile breeding centre has been located here by the Forests Department. APTDC has Punnami restaurant here with two rooms attached

  • YUP, This is Ettipothala waterfalls :-). One of the worth seeing place if you are coming to see Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Nagarjuna Konda, ..etc. AP tourism constructed few nice guest houses in Sagar and a small one in etthipothala for the visitors

  • A beautiful location with high tourist potential. But there is lot more to be done by AP tourism. The restaurant needs improvement in terms of cleanliness (too many flies around), quality and variety of food, as well as the level of hospitality. At the time we visited (Christmas/year end 2008), the Manager seemed to be absent, leaving us at the mercy of a few reluctant staff.
