Cuisine: Seafood

This long-established family-owned seafood restaurant is located oceanfront at the end of Playa Barra Vieja. Though it's still frequented by some Acapulqueños, it's become very 'touristy' in the sense that it's often listed as a 'must-go' place to have lunch or dinner for those visiting the area.
Along with a number of other seafood eateries lining this beach, Beto Godoy's is well-known for its fresh specialty-of-the-house > 'huachinango a la talla' (pronounced watchee-NAHNG-oh ah lah TIE-uh), locally-caught red snapper seasoned with certain spices and typically grilled over a charcoal fire pit. Most places, guests are invited into the kitchen area to view the available catch - and select whichever appeals to them; and cost is determined by the weight of the fish ... so many pesos per kilo.

Best fish in Acapulco! Pick your fish out of a pool and have it cooked for you while you enjoy a beer and tranquil view of the ocean. Very casual, picnic table setting covered by rustic patio, it is waterproof, found that out by personal experience. It is about 20 minutes south of the Airport area but well worth a visit. Enjoy!
