According to Arabic tradition, Petra is the spot where Prophet Moses (pbuh) struck a rock with his staff and water came forth, and where Moses' brother, Aaron (Haroun pbuh), is buried, at Mount Hor, known today as Jabal Haroun or Mount Aaron.
