Ranigumpha is famous
Witnessing the glorious history of Gupta Era. The name Udayagiri came from Udaya means sunrise and Giri means mountain, combines to have a meaning 'mountain of the sunrise'. These caves were carved and reworked under the supervision of Chandragupta II, these caves are built in 4th and 5th century CE. He was the most powerful emperor of Gupta Empire. He rules the northern India from 380 CE till 413 CE. This time period is often referred as a golden age in the history of India. He was the greatest admirer of arts, artists. They are valued very high during Chandraguptas' time as they get highly paid for their work.

This place is currently preserved and protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. Also one of the Hindu ritual sites in India. These caves are consists of a U-shaped table land near to “Bes river”. These caves are located near Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, at Northern part of India which is 13 k.m. From Buddhist monument site Sanchi. These caves are numbered as 1,3,4,5,6 and 13, which was numbered by the the famous archaeologist Alexander Cunningham. Cunningham was also well known as founder of Archaeological Survey of India. These caves also had inscription written on it, language use for writing is bit like Sanskrit, we can call it as a corrupted Sanskrit.
