Tonok, AK

Older topo maps show this site as the village of "Tonok" with several buildings. Another village site called "Bluff" is to the SE, and a gold mine and airstrip to the north.

Tonok is not listed as an organized Alaska community, but it is shown as a community in the Alaska DNR Cape Nome district: dnr.alaska.gov/ssd/recoff/info8.cfm

Likely an abandoned native village and/or gold mining camp.
