Estate designed c. 1914 in the Georgian Revival style by Charles A. Platt on originally 76 acres for Lewis Cass Ledyard, Jr {attorney, financier, industrialist}. Ledyard served as partner of the law firm of Carter, Ledyard & Milburn. He also served as president of Northern Finance Co., and director of Melville Bond & Share Corp, Great Northern Paper Co, and trustee the U.S. Trust Co. of New York. He was also a member of the Zodiac Club.

The estate also featured landscaping designed in 1917 by Annette Hoyt Flanders and jointly by Ellen Biddle Shipman and Charles A. Platt. It also had a pool and tennis court designed by Delano & Aldrich. The estate is now owned by the Orthodox Church in America which converted the drawing room into a chapel and added a shrine in the garden.
