Norriego Point

Popular spot for the boating community, in "season" there are usually several dozen boats pulled up on the sand with families spending a whole weekend on the "point." You can also get there from Holiday Isle, where there is public parking.

In actuality this is Holiday Isle park, a public park donated on August 4th, 1958. It is managed by the Okaloosa Island Authority.
Norriego Point is the area encompassing the eastern tip of Santa Rosa Island (where the Coast Guard station stands). The area of Destin was known as Moreno Point in the mid 1800's, with Destin noted on maps during the Civil War era.
