Starr, South Carolina

Town with a population of 173 at the 2000 census. Originally the village of Twiggs until the Savannah Valley railroad was built through it in 1884, when its name was changed to Starr Station to honor the first railway engineer on the railroad. Incorporated as Starr by the General Assembly in 1890.
