A dragon named Annie that used to guard the tip of Merritt Island. Legend has it, the steel and concrete dragon and hatchlings named Joy, Sunshine, Charity, and Freedom were constructed by a landowner out of anger towards the Marina across the lagoon for not allowing his entry into their private yacht club. After many decades the current owner and the Brevard County commissioners allowed the icon to fall into disrepair and collapse into the water.
In January 2015 after a long dispute over the property it was announced that a new owner had acquired the property, the old mansion will be replaced and a new dragon named Rojak will be built in 2016.
Rojak in the canon behind Annie is said to be her hidden 5th hatchling and has 2 heads, wings, and breaths fire.

  • Sadly this great landmark got knocked down by the hurricanes. You can see the ruins though, and the house it was built for is abandoned.
