USA / Georgia / Wilmington Island / Wilmington Island Rd, 700
 apartment building, apartment complex

Built in 1926 by Henry Walthour as the General Oglethorpe Hotel. Later renamed the Savannah Inn and Country Club then the Sheraton Savannah Hotel. The work was largely completed in 2003 and tenants began moving in, but the quality of the work has since faced numerous legal issues.

  • My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Savannah Inn & Country Club for our honeymoon. This was back in 1978, December 9th to be exact. It was an enjoyable weekend, even though we weren't prepared for the cold. When we left Charleston,S.C.it was about 90 degrees and we didn't pack for the cold that weekend. However, we still enjoyed it and had a good honeymoon. Thank you for being there back then.
