Russian: Советский район (the Soviet district).

The Sovetskiy rayon is located at the central part of a city. In the north borders with Zarechensky, in the west and the south on Privokzalnym, in the east with Central city districts. On time of the formation it is the youngest city district: it has been generated only in 1977 at the expense of area Privokzalnogo territory. At the moment the Sovetskiy rayon again administratively is united with Privokzalny rayon. Specially created Territorial administration of administration Tula on Soviet and to areas Privokzalnomu is engaged in the area maintenance. The territory of the Sovetskiy rayon makes 0,72 km ². Here lives about 80 thousand inhabitants (43,9 % - men, 56,1 – women). The area can be divided into three parts: a northeast part (Mosin's street, the Krasnoarmejsky prospectus, Demonstration street) where there is an industrial zone and houses of new building; the central part (street of Demonstration, F.Engelsa, May Day) - many-storeyed houses of old and new building; Southwest part (Lenin's avenue, Boldin's street, street on May, 9th) - 5-storeyed houses of old building with small apartments and houses of individual building. The largest the area enterprises are Open Society AK "Туламашзавод", Open Society "Тулаточмаш" and Open Society «Tula small-arms factory».
