Civic Terrace (Windsor, Ontario)

This former rail yard was converted into a bike trail and park in 1997 by the City of Windsor after the land was donated by the CN Rail Company in 1992. It is in the process of restoring the rail ferry loading decks as historic monuments. During the summer, this large expense of smooth tarmac is home to the Freedom Festival, the Buskers Festival, and acts as a seating area for thousands of Fireworks Night fans. The terrace also doubles as overflow parking for city events.
