The viaduct of Magnan allows the highway A8 to cross the valley of Madeleine. Peaking in 110 meters above ground level, it is about the highest work of engineering of this highway. This work is constituted in fact by two parallel and very close viaducts : viaduct South (completion in 1975) and the viaduct North (completion in 1983). Until the putting into service of the apron the North, the traffic was made with a double meaning on the only apron the South. Since 1983, every deck welcomes two traffic lanes unidirectionnelle with hard shoulder.
