The official website is here www.kkd.kerala.gov.in/home.htm The busy coastal city of Kozhikode, located to the north of Kerala and 225 kms from Kochi holds an important postion in the legend and history of Kerala.The Indian Dasooqi Centre is in this City it is located only 10 Km from this city . The place is historically infamous as the Portuguese led by Vasco da Gama first landed in India, at Panthalayani (near kappad) near Kozhikode in 1498 AD. He was the first European to reach India via the sea route, around the southern cape of Africa. Later the Dutch, French and British came to its shores. Thus, began a period of conflict of foreign powers for domination of trade in Malabar. Kozhikode (Calicut) was the capital of the powerful Zamorins who was having a powerfull naval force under the leadership of Kunhali Marikkar. This age-old town still maintains its commercial traditions.It is also one of the major cities of Malabar area of Kerala State. No description of Kozhikode is complete with out mentioning the name of the legendary Late Mr. V K Krishna Menon. He is the man behind what Calicut is and has today.  place comments:
