park, island, flag
This park is on or near the site of the home of Francis Scott Key. The house was removed during construction of an entrance ramp to the Whitehurst Freeway. The building was dismantled and supposedly placed into storage for future reconstruction. Nobody now knows the location of the storage site.
The flag in the park has 15 stars and 15 strips: the same as the flag flown at Fort McHenry when the "Star Spangled Banner" was written.
The park originally contained a number of historic markers. These were removed after vandals defaced them with graffiti.
