Tourists Pass. Eastern slope is a long exhausting moraine with alpine tundra landscape and not much to see. Western slope upper part is a glacier w/possibility of dangerous ice cracks. However the icy part is quite short. If you take north from the pass you may climb long exhausting snowy Pogrebetsky Peak. The south route is very easy technically but requires a good fit from a hiker. Just 20 mins west of the pass is a good camp site w/melted water. The pass used to be very popular among alpine hikers in 70-80s.
