Built in 1955-56 to support the construction and operations at the POW-C DEW Line Radar Site, the Point McIntyre Airport was used exclusively by the US Air Force until the closure of the station in 1963. Largely abandoned thereafter, the runway saw occasional use by aircraft engaged in oil industry exploration and drilling but is no longer listed as active by the FAA.
