One of the most beautiful and well known Rokokogardens in Europe.
The Schloss Veitshöchheim was built in 1680 and enhanced in 1748 and 1753 by the famous architect Balthasar Neumann.
From 1806 to 1814 the manor-house was the summer residence of the grand duke Ferdinand III. von Toskana, the elector of Würzburg. In 1814 it came in the possession of the Bavarian Kings, who also lived there for the summer months. In possesion of the the Free State of Bavaria since 1918, the manor-house became a museum in 1932. The manor-house was extensively renovated in-between 2001-2005.
