An excellent place to go for a walk. Para sailors tend to be found here in the summer as well as in the winter.
As well, in the middle of winter, the river is sufficiently frozen to allow walkers to get 75% of the way across to Quebec.
The park was established by Ottawa's streetcar company as a Sunday destination and was the westernmost point of the streetcar network.
