A commercial area of Kollam, Kilikollur is located a few kilometers north-east of Kollam Junction Railway Station. Kilikollur was once the camp of the Royal Army. Soldiers of the camp killed many birds and hence the place got the name Kilikollur. Covering an area of about 11 sq km, Kilikollur houses several cashew factories, saw mills, match factories and tile manufacturing centers. Handlooms and coir making are the small scale industries of this place. TKM Engineering College, TKM Arts College and Chandanathope Industrial Training Centre are the major landmarks of this place. Kilikollur Railway Station is on the Kollam-Kottarakara rail route.
