Gilbert Hill - One of only two Hills in the world of the same type. The other one is in USA (Devil's Tower) They are made of Basalt hexagons protruding from the Earth.
IT HAS TWO TEMPLES ON HILL TOP.MTDC WANTS TO MAKE THIS POPULAR TOURIST SPOT.

These basalt structure are called columnar jointing in geological term. hence the basalt is called columnar basalt.

The place nearby my residence. its a gr8 place & now its going to b a tourist place. it came into existence thru a volcano eruption & in whole world there r nly 2 such hills........

gilbert hill is certainly the best place in suburban mumbai .. astones throw away from andheri staton ....also from the top u get views as far as juhu beach to the planes taking off and landing on the santacruz airport and obviously theres the view till worli i guess and kandivali on the other side ,,,,awesome place must visit ..
