This is the new railway station between Bhandup & Mulund added to the Central Railway route in 2006 for local EMU stops.
The planning survey of the station was done in late sixties, but Railway authorities did not find it attractive, as the surrounding area was barren - with Salt pans occupying the eastern side & without any buildings nearby. It was only after this area was occupied by no. of colonies & after their demand for the station & lot of political follow up, the proposal was cleared
