The ratkuria is a place,better say,Mecca of school education,politicians and eminent social leaders.The soil of Ratkuria gave birth to many academia,politicians,bureaucrates,civil servants,police and military officers,social activists as well as leaders from all walks of life.Some of eminent personalities include Babuji gullaramji,goverdhansinghji[hakim sab],bhanwarlalji jain,ramnarayan dudi,mahant ramaiya das ji,mangilal ji secretary,nathuram ji tyagi,chatursingh ji,maharaj singhji,mahendra ji jain,bhallaram senwer,ramdeenji dudi,mohanram benda,chogaram luhar etc.This is an old historical village. The village was founded by Rattaji Jat of Kudia gotra. Hence the name Ratkudia. It was earlier settled 1 km away from present village. Remnants of ancient Ratkudia are still there. This is a well-connected village.
The proxomity of Deori,thiki,bhairoji nadi and kacholiya gives a religious perspective to the territory.Bhanwarlalji seth sab ki pedi,chowki and mandir ki chantri were once central places for political,social and economical discussions.Ratkurians are spreaded across the country esp.in cities like jodhpur,Bombay,surat,chennai,pune,delhi etc.People have ardent faith in Bholaramji,Bhuria baba,Mahadev ji,Bhairon ji,Ramdeo ji,jain saint roop muniji,ramniwasji babji etc.population is around 7500 and mainly consist of jat community,though there are kumhar,darji,nai,jain,bramin,sunar,meghwal,harijans are also make it a diversified place.The place is better connected to nearby cities like pipar,bhopalgarah and jodhpur through road and it does enjoy rail connectivity too by owing a railway station called 'Ummed'.
Though once the place was short of water and other basic facilities,as a famous ancient saying is "Ratkuria..ratna ro vaso...pun pani ro taaso...[The place is full of jewels,but short of water],but now the picture has been changed tremendously.Today it posseses schools,hospital,girls hostel,sanskrit vidhyapith,power backup centre,shops,services like LIC,Post office,micro saving etc.The patriotism prevails in the blood of Ratkurians as almost every family has at least a member in defence services.There are some anecdotes and dohas in marwari literature which epitomize the contribution of its leaders.some of them are..
