Lake Varaždin (Croatian: Varaždinsko jezero) is an artificial lake on the Drava River, near the city of Varaždin. It was built for the purposes of the Čakovec Hydroelectric Power Plant (Croatian: Hidroelektrana Čakovec, HE Čakovec) and completed in the early 1980s. For many years, the lake has also been a popular bathing and fishing destination, especially on the shores along its north-western corner, near the village of Gornji Kuršanec.
