New York's Pennsylvania Station

New York's Pennsylvania Station "Eagle" (Philadelphia)

Twenty-two eagles, fashioned by sculptor Adolph Weinman, carved in 1910 and weighing in at 5,700 pounds, each perched over the station's four entrances, alongside sets of maidens who were draped over huge clocks. All of the eagles survived the station's destruction in 1963. Only a few of Weinman's maidens escaped a New Jersey landfill. Somehow 4 of these eagles made it on to the four corners of the Market Street bridge.
