Estate home designed c. 1910 in the Georgian Revival style by Guy Lowell on originally 66 acres of land for Julien Ashton Ripley Sr {capitalist}. Ripley served as a real estate developer of properties in Manhattan. He also served as a trustee of the Village of Muttontown. The estate featured landscaping by Olmsted and Lewis & Valentine.

In 1929, the estate was sold to George Callendine Heck, Sr. who renamed it "Lindwood" and the Ripleys relocated to West Shore Drive in Oyster Bay. It was later occupied by Gregory Coleman in 1986. The farm group remains today as a separate residence.
