In February 2007, Bethesda Park celebrated the opening of the new 31,040-square-foot aquatic center which includes a nearly 7,000-square-foot indoor leisure pool with zero-entry beach-style access, a 100-foot slide that exits and then re-enters the building, a river channel, hydrotherapy benches, water play structure, tumble buckets, vortex, and a ceiling spray. The facility also boasts a four-lane, 2,500-square-foot constant-depth instructional pool and a wet classroom.

This community park also features three adult softball fields, seven baseball/softball fields with a football field overlay, six soccer fields and a concession/restroom area. Other amenities include a playground, short walking trail around a lake, 1.5-mile paved multi-purpose trail, and a picnic pavilion. The Gwinnett Senior Center was built for the exclusive recreation use of Gwinnett's senior citizen population. The staff coordinates the activities of nine recreational clubs using park facilities countywide. The 16,200-square-foot building contains two meeting rooms, a conference room, two arts and crafts rooms, a catering kitchen, a ballroom, a game room and the SeniorNet computer learning center. Park improvement construction is underway. Also added to the park is a football field with a lighted track.
