Crestone is a statutory town that has shunned commercialism. There are very few services available. Several restaurants have opened and closed over the years. There is no bank or ATM. There is a gas station, liquor store and a small general store. Lodging is available at the White Eagle Lodge west of town. There are numerous spiritual centers of several denominations in the nearby hills. The mountains are some of the most spectacular scenery and difficult climbing in Colorado.
