  • Location: Seeb Personnel: About 1,300 U.S. military Units: 763rd Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, 4410th Air Refueling Squadron, 189th Airlift Squadron and 320th Air Expeditionary Wing, according to military research group Globalsecurity.org. Aircraft: Force includes C-130 transports and KC-135 refueling tankers. Role: An abundance of U.S. military materiel and equipment is based in and around Seeb, Oman's largest military base. Several nearby oil tankers are also at U.S. forces' disposal. Oman's historically pro-American government has been wary of supporting a U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
