This portion of 405 is undergoing massive amounts of construction, including a new overpass. Traffic can be nasty through here on the best of days. If it's not a best day, plan to take extra time.

It took so long because they miscalculated the grading required to raise the road in order to accommodate a freeway overpass. 116th was closed for a year longer than expected, and they had to obtain a variance because the road is designated an emergency arterial and the new grade was found to be too steep for the road to be classified an emergency arterial. Problem was, it is the only road through without at least a 1.5 mile reroute. oops!
