Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), known as 'Hokusai' in the West, the greatest Ukiyo-e (Woodblock Print) Master. His most recognisable work would have to be "The Great Wave of Kagawa" - it is probably the most famous of any Ukiyo-e print.
