Canadian Mental Health Association (Windsor, Ontario)

Provides support and services for the area's 1,200 - 1,800 chronically mentally ill. Programs include, community and social support, housing and employment services, prevention and specialized services, resource centre, workplace health services and public education. The local office of the Canadian Mental Health Association has been located at it's present address since 1996.

The 26,406 sq. ft. building was constructed in 1951 by Beauty Counselors. Established in the 1930s Beauty Counselors produced a line of skin care, cosmetic, fragrance and personal care products which were sold at "home parties" featuring in home cosmetic and skin care counselling. In 1967 Beauty Counselors was acquired by Rexall Drug & Chemical Co. The name was changed to Vanda Beauty Counselors following a merger with Vanda Cosmetics in 1970.
