Mountain Zeus is the highest mountain not only on the island of Naxos but also on Cyclades islands. Its peak is about 999 metres high above the sea level. According to Greek mythology, Zeus was born in the island of Crete but raised in a cave on Mt. Zeus, so the mountain was named after him.
