Established in 1866 when Windsor was a small town, the cemetery is the final resting place of many notable citizens including;
Samuel S. MacDonell - the first Mayor of Windsor in 1858
Gordon McGregor - he helped establish Ford Canada in 1904
Frederick Scott Seagave - successful fire truck manufacturer.
Landscaped with parklike grounds the Windsor Grove has a sister cemetery, Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Cremation Centre opened in 1968 at 1100 Division Road. The cemetery features memorials to WW I and WW II veterans and a mausoleum built in 1930 which was designated a heritage property by the City of Windsor.
