Bellamy ravine is a ravine in Scarborough that runs from Kingston Road to the shore of Lake Ontario. The trail that runs through the ravine is Doris McCarthy Trail, named after the renowned Canadian painter who built the first house to occupy the bluffs above this site.

At the bottom is a beach with lots of rocks and pieces of metal: speculated by local residents to be from the ship Alexandria that sunk in 1915- the shipwreck is visible from the beach. Just a few metres up the beach is another (steep) trail that climbs up the side of the bluffs, leading to Sylvan Park.

For those adventurous enough to have walked down the ravine to the shore, you would know that there is a beautiful sculpture honouring McCarthy called 'Passage' - a work
commissioned by the "Friends of Doris McCarthy" from Marlene Hilton Moore. See www.ruthard.ca/art/scarborough/passage.html and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doris_McCarthy
