Plaza Towers was built in 1991. After original construction and occupancy, it was discovered that defects in the facade were allowing massive water infiltration. The building was stripped to its concrete frame and rebuilt. Reconstruction was complete in 1997.

The building contains a Courtyard by Marriott hotel on the lower floors, and apartments and condominiums on the upper floors.
