Mirchi Wadi village found a mention in Times of India about 7 years ago in a story titled "Light Years from Civilisation" filed by one Yogesh Sadhwani. volunteers from Sathya Sai organisation from Chembur Mumbai India read that article and hunted for the place and ultimately located near Ambarnath, Near Kalyan Maharashtra. Then a Plan of Action was made quickly to improve the impoverished village. Every Sunday the Chembur samithi volunteers went there for nearly a year and once in a fortnight thereafter and conducted classes for the village kids, restarted Medical service, spoke to authorities and got min facilities and worked on Low cost housing projects but before that the Govt quickly built the houses. Then it was handed over by Chembur Samithi to the local Sai Samithi of Ambarnath who took over and continue the Seva activities including building a road with the help of a foreign bank. Now the village is thankful to the Sai Samithi chembur and Ambarnath for their continuous support for the last 4 years.
