The George M. Asher Memorial Hall is also a residence hall for women located on Main Street, west of Archer Hall. Asher Hall, which houses approximately 150 women, was opened in 1976 and was named in memory of Dr. George M. Asher, a physician, surgeon and friend of the people of Southeastern Kentucky. The Hall was remodeled in 1990. Three sleeping rooms, a common room, and a bathroom form each suite in Asher Hall. Generally each room houses two female students. There is a lobby area as well as a study/quiet room located on the main floor.
