Established in 1962 by Dufferin Aggregates the 550 ha. Milton Quarry produces dolomite limestone from the Amabel Formation to be used in construction materials including, concrete stone, asphalt stone, granulars, drainage stone, screenings and landscape stone. At its peak, the quarry shipped over 50,000 tonnes of stone per day. In 1974, the original processing plant was relocated behind the escarpment and the original plant site was rehabilitated. The present plant includes an underground crusher, and a wash plant.
