People launch boats to fish and dive in the mouth of Tomales Bay, which in season (summer through fall) is a popular place to fish and spearfish for halibut. Also a lot of salmon fishing goes out of here on small boats.

There are many 8" abalone in the area around Tomales Point.

This is also one of the 'anchor points' of the Great White triangle. This is a known area for great white attacks. From www.sharkresearchcommittee.com/unprovoked_diver.htm
"This was the ninth White Shark attack on a diver from the Tomales Point "recurring location."

Google "shark attacks tomales" In spite of the shark attacks, this is an interesting place to dive!
