USCG Station Dauphin Island is a small-boat lifesaving station in the US Coast Guard's 8th District, Sector Mobile. Founded in November 2001, Station Dauphin Island covers an Area of Responsibility (AOR) of approximately 1,380 square miles of inland and coastal waterways. It extends from the I-65 Bridge to 30 miles off shore of the barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico including all of Mobile Bay to the state borders of Florida to the East and Mississippi to the West.
Station Dauphin Island carries out Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement, Recreational Boating Safety and Port Security missions utilizing two 41ft Utility Boats and two 25ft Defender Class boats.
