Naufragados Beach is an ecological area within the Serra do Tabuleiro State Park. Despite being the most distant beach from the center of Florianopolis, is the well worth the visit.

The beach is 1,100 m long with a wide stretch of sand and the best waves break on the rocky part on the right hand side, principally on the days before the arrival of the cold fronts, when the waves come in, in front of the south wind.

As the name indicates there was a big shipwreck here in 1753. Two ships which were bringing people from Azorean archipelago, destined for Rio Grande do Sul. The ships sank near Naufragados point beacuse the channel between Santa Catarina island, the island of Aracatuba and the mainland is very narrow and the visibility was low. 77 survivors remained on the island.
