Kampung Tengah

Malaysia / Johor / Segamat / Jalan Kg. Tengah

New village with majority Chinese population. The village was set up by the British Colonial Government during the 1950's in order to prevent the villagers to provide food supplies to CPM (The Communist Party of Malaya). Majority of the villagers are small rubber plantation holders while small portion involve in small business. Due to lack of job opportunities and future advancements, younger generations had flocked to big cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru & Singapore to seek greener pastures. The housing developments outside the new village had however attracted residents from other parts of Segamat district to migrate here.
