This is Frangokastello with major part of the settlement and Venetian castle (Frangokastello). Located on the South coast of Crete 12 kilometers (East) from Hora Sfakion and 86 kilometers (South) of Hania- Frangokastello lies on gently shelving, fine sand beach backed by beautiful mountains. Relative remoteness of the area ensure a stunning, natural, peaceful oasis as refuge from urban, loud and crowded places. It is "other world", definitely, especially in and around OASIS Apartments (no groups or masses around castle). Personally I spend most peaceful and relaxing days of my life there.   • YOU ARE RIGHT!! We are lucky those places still exists in spite of hordes invading from April to November. We are lucky most of those hunt for nightlife, disco and bigger places.., and they will never "waste" time in "innocent" and natural Frangokastello. Frangokastello deserve a lot but it should be visited by the people who knows to appreciate quality vacations with a lot of nature, sea, sand and good food - peace as most important (Oasis is a best solution there)!
